    Speakers Biography

    Otis Scott, Jr. best know too many as “Scotty” is an audience interactive speaker that engages as he presents.  His goal is to make learning fun, while stretching the imagination of those in attendance.  He prides himself on giving back what he has learned from experience and great mentorship over the years.  His mission is to bridge the gap between the unknown and the known.

    Scotty proudly served our country for 24 years in the United States Air Force.  He worked in many different roles, gaining field experience and knowledge in many different areas. He traveled extensively and advised on many issues from arms control to managing organizations as large as 30,000 people.

    He has lectured at many conferences, military management institutions, department of defense agencies, institutes of higher learning and professional organizations.  His expertise has been utilized by the Society for Human Resource Management, Pentagon, State Department, Financial Institutions, various Associations and Organizations (military and civilian), just to name a few.

    He has spearheaded the development of military courses, lead teams in foreign countries that provided humanitarian aide, advised on matters concerning the welfare of our retired military forces; championed causes to develop financial means for college bound students and sat on numerous boards that provided college/university scholarships.  He has always led in leadership roles while in the military, which transitioned over to leadership roles in the community as Past President of the San Antonio Human Resource Management Association (SAHRMA), Past President of the San Antonio Advisory Board of the Texas Diversity Council, SHRM Texas State Council Director for College Relations (Past) and current Director for Diversity.  He is a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, San Antonio Human Resource Management Association and the Tuskegee Airmen and currently holds memberships in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), SAHRMA, Greater San Antonio Chamber Military Affairs Committee and Urban Management Assistants of South Texas (UMAST).
